Base Magnetic Island

Location
Located on Magnetic Island, only minutes by car from the ferry landing. 20 minutes by ferry from Townsville to Magnetic Island, regular ferry transport. Pleasant island with good beaches and a lot of wildlife. Claims to be the only backpackers on the beach in Australia.

Rooms are in a good condition, as renovated in early 2004.

There is no restaurant on the premises.

General
The resort has on-site dive shop. Learn to dive on Magnetic Island, one of the best value places in Australia. Go koala spotting on a bush walk, sea kayak around the island or horse ride bare back on the beach. Excellent value for money.
